Lila Lee Young

Lila was born on June 23, 1923 in Champoeg, Oregon and was the daughter of Perry and Rebecca (Haag) McIlvaine. She graduated from Yamhill High School in 1941 and attended Business College in Portland. She worked in the Administration Department at PGE until 1956.

On February 12, 1949 she married Gilbert Nelson Young in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Gresham in 1954 where Lila worked as a homemaker raising her two sons. She was a member of Lynchwood Christian Church.

Lila had many hobbies. She enjoyed cooking and trips to the beach. Her greatest love was her family. She loved time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Lila is survived by her sons, Jeff Young of Portland and Mark Young of Scottsdale, AZ along with her 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, Kyle, Connor, Meagan and Cheyenne and 1 great granddaughter, Addison. Her husband Gilbert, brothers, Howard and Bud and sisters, Gladys and Norma all preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am -8:00 pm. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
