She was born to Orville Eugene Raymond and Donna Lynn Traner on December 24th, 1948, in Eugene, Oregon. Linda grew up living all over Oregon before settling in the Portland metro area. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1967 (now Ida B. Wells High School) and after that first summer out of school, she married her first husband, Robert John Majors, on September 30th, 1967. They spent their time renovating houses, doing stained glass, and traveling. She gave birth to Zachary John Majors on September 13th, 1974, and three years later she had Joshua Mark Majors on October 30th, 1977. After growing apart, Robert and Linda divorced in 1979 and she remarried to Douglas Lee Moser on July 25th, 1981. They enjoyed playing darts and going out dancing. Linda had her third child, Megan Patricia Moser, on January 4th, 1986. Linda and Doug parted ways in 1998, and she raised Megan as a strong single mom.
During Linda’s childhood, she enjoyed basketball, playing piano, and roller skating at Oaks Park. In her early adult years, she helped her father sell hand-dipped corn dogs, volunteered as a hospital “candy striper”, and was a switchboard operator. She worked for United Postal Service (UPS) and NW Natural Gas for several years doing customer service before retiring at both companies. When her kids were young, she went bowling every Wednesday night with her girlfriends Doreen, Jody, Barbara, and Maxine to get some adult time in, but oftentimes her kids would go anyway. Linda was a great mom who was always very involved and played an active role in her three children’s lives. She was a room mom volunteer at the school and went to all the games and activities. In her free time, she enjoyed going window shopping, to garage sales and thrift stores, and going to the beach. Most of the time you could find her catching up on the latest news, reading or watching true crime documentaries, and hanging out at home.
Linda’s dreams came true in 2010 when her daughter Megan gave birth on December 1st to Casey Joshua, and she became a Grandma for the first time. On April 17th, 2012, her second grandson, Colton Zachary, was born and made her life complete. She loved attending her grandson’s soccer games and playing board games with them. Linda got a saying from her Grandma Traner that she passed on to her grandson’s as well. She would say “Grandma’s…” and they would finish the sentence by saying, “Doll Baby''. She would start the day by saying "It's gonna be a..." and we would have to finish with "great day!". Linda was an amazing woman that loved her family with all her heart, and it always made her the happiest to see her family happy, healthy, and well taken care of. She will be greatly missed.
Linda is lovingly survived by her two son’s Zac and Josh, her daughter Megan, her daughter-in-law Majo, her grandson’s Casey and Colton, her grandpuppies Nube, Murphy, and Bellamy.
Family and friends are invited to Linda’s Celebration of Life on Saturday July 27th, 2024, at 4pm. Please bring a dish of some easy finger food to share and any refreshments you would like to have.
