

Lois was born on August 22, 1916 in Walville, Washington and was the daughter of Yoshinosake and Asano (Suzuki) Sato. She graduated from Beaverton High School in 1933 and during WWII she was interned and Minidoka Center in Idaho.
Lois graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1950. She taught English and French at Clackamas High School for the last twenty four years prior to her retirement in 1981.
Lois had many hobbies. She enjoyed photography and could be seen snapping pictures where ever she went. She was an avid reader and would review each book she read. She was a baker and many have sampled her cookies at different functions. She was a rock hound and joined the Oregon Agate and Mineral Society. She was a world traveler. Among the countries she visited were Japan, Korea, Panama Canal, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico. All of her trips had an element of learning. She loved to learn about each place's history, culture and people of the region.
She is survived by her niece, Karen Sato, nephews, Ken Sato and Gary Sato, Great Niece, Stephanie Collins and Great-Great Nephews, Glen Jr. and Jaylen Collins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Milwaukie Presbyterian Church in Milwaukie. A Family Interment will take place at Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Contributions may be made in memory of Lois to Habitat for Humanity, the Heifer International, or Milwaukie Presbyterian Church. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
