

Lyle graduated from Sandy High School where he was very active in sports. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II spending time in the Carolina Islands.
Lyle worked for Safeway as a manager of the Beaverton store. He also worked for Blue Bell Potato chips for 25 years starting as a route salesman and then as a plant manager. Lyle lived in Beaverton, Redlands and for the last 21 years in Troutdale, Oregon. He retired at 62 and spent many happy times fishing, hunting and traveling. He especially enjoyed visiting Ireland.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Frances, daughters, Faith Swanson, Gwen Day, Gail and her husband Gary Schuetze, sons Greg and his wife Jullane Rich, Curtis and his wife Joanne Sorg, Randy and his wife Linda Sorg, brother Loyal and his wife Ada Rich, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church located at 5415 SE Powell Blvd. in Portland, Oregon. Private burial will be a Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
