

Mabel was born on July 29, 1922 in Leshara, Nebraska and was the daughter of Ira and Lurline Allison. She graduated from high school in Grand Island, Nebraska and moved to Gresham, Oregon in the late 1940’s.
Mabel married Eugene Brown and they moved to Honeydew, CA and in the early 1960’s to Roseburg, Oregon. Mabel worked for Montgomery Wards in the intimate apparel department for 20 years. She then went to work for Macy’s in the intimate apparel department where she retired in the 2000’s. She was a member of the Elk’s Lodge.
She enjoyed bowling on leagues, ocean cruises, trips to Reno, and all types of card games, especially bridge, which she played four times a week. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jumble puzzles, reading and especially shopping! She also loved baking, and spoiling her grandchildren! Mable was a fantastic cook, a wonderful grandmother, very well dressed and an all-around great woman. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mabel is survived by her three children, K. Mike (Kathy), Janet Ziert (Mike) and David (Shelly), sisters, Beverly Terpening, and Mildred Bourgo and brothers, Wayne, Trent and William Allison. She has seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Her husband, Eugene, and two sisters, Bernice Mott and Betty Jane VanWinkle all preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.
