Martha M. Poppe Doversberger

Martha is survived by her son, Reverend Nicholas and his wife Kristine Doversberger of Oregon City, OR; her daughter, Mary and her husband David Hood of Portland, OR; brother, Herbert E. Poppe, Sr.; four granddaughters, Sarah (Kelly) Halliwell; Jeanna (Bill) Doversberger; Rachel Hood; and Catherine Hood; three great-grandchildren; Matthew and Abigail Halliwell and Emma Doversberger and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carl E. Doversberger.

Martha was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Canby, OR. She was a former member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Portland, OR.

Martha enjoyed a lengthy career as an executive secretary, including service with the Pullman-Standard Company from 1959-1981. She was an active member of the church, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She especially loved to sew and quilt, and blessed others in countless ways with her many talents and gifts.

Funeral service will be on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon. A concluding graveside service will follow the funeral service on Monday, June 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
