

Martin was raised in Oregon and after his military service returned to Oregon in 1978 eventually settling in Gresham. He graduated from Bull Run Grade School in Sandy, Oregon. Martin attended Sandy High School for his first two years and later graduated from Benson Tech High School.
Martin was a career veteran proudly serving as an instructor flight navigator in the U.S. Air Force where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He married Marjorie Cooper on October 28, 1961 in Sandy, Oregon. Martin was an active member of the Tri-City Baptist Temple in Gladstone, Oregon.
Hobbies included electronics, radio control model airplanes, piloting airplanes and gliders, quilting, sewing, building televisions, fishing, savoring chocolate and enjoying his family. He was also involved in various Masonic organizations.
Donations may be given to Tri-City Baptist Temple or to the American Amputee Foundation of Oregon.
Survivors include his loving wife Marjorie, two sons, Bryan Sander, of Corvallis, OR., and Greg Sander, of Gresham, OR., two daughters, Valerie Arthurs, of Gresham, OR., and Kolleen Clayton, of Aurora, OR., brother, Cliff V. Sander, of Vancouver, WA and 9 grandchildren; Mariah, Dakota and Serena Arthurs, Keilah and Attalia Sander, Marty, Brittany, Douglas and Timothy Clayton.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tri-City Baptist Temple located at 18035 SE Webster in Gladstone, Oregon. A concluding graveside service with military honors will be at Willamette National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 8th at 12:30 p.m.
