Mary Ellen Padilla

Mary Ellen Padilla passed away peacefully on December 13, 2017, at the age of 90. She was born on September 24, 1927 to Bert and Katie Manley in Hillsboro, Oregon. She graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles and went on to complete her associate degree at Santa Monica City College.

She met and married Tomas Padilla while working at Armacost Nursery in 1946. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage. They grew spectacular flower gardens wherever they lived. She also liked pets of all kinds especially birds. Traveling and taking pictures was another passion of hers. She was a great Mom to her three kids and a devoted wife to her husband.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Tomas, and sisters Lois (Randal) Ray and Alice Elaine Manley. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Kay) Padilla of Gresham, OR; her daughters, Kathy Levine of Mission Hills, CA and Mary (Jim) Finch of Moreno Valley, CA. Grandchildren include Shaun, Jason, Jennifer, Samuel, Dan, Missy, David, and Brian.

Mary’s great grandchildren are Charlie, Ben, Lilly, Brady, Maya, John, Jason Jr., Jake, Aireana, Shaun Jr., and Mary.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 1-5 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.

A public gravesite service will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in McMinnville, OR on Thursday, December 21 at 1:00 pm.
