Olive Jesse Breniser Johnston

Olive grew up in Gresham, OR running on rooftops of old sheds and swinging in the swing her dad had made for her.

Olive married Harold Johnston on June 6, 1946. Harold died in 1988.

Olive loved watching animals, gardening, painting, reading, crocheting, and going on adventures. She worked at Sandy High School for 20 years as the attendance secretary. In her later years, Olive volunteered at the Vista House and at the senior center. Olive was a member of Gresham Methodist Church.

Olive was loved and will be missed greatly, but she is together again with her husband Harold Reed Johnston.

Olive was preceded in death by daughter Cathie Wilce of Banks, Oregon.

Olive is survived by her son Ron Johnston of Troutdale, OR., daughters Barbie Nelson of Oakland, OR and Debbie Heurlin of Mission Viego, CA. She has eight grandchildren: Nick, Tracie, Wendy, Nancy, Julie, Colin, Audrey and Rachel plus six great-grandchildren.

Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

A memorial service will be on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.
