Priscilla was born on October 28, 1928 in Dallas, TX as the daughter of Willie Elzie and Laura (Jones) Constant. Her life was a legacy of love and dedication to the Lord Jesus, to her family, and to those in need.
She served for years as a social worker in the poorest neighborhoods in Houston, TX, developing and administering community programs designed to bring hope and opportunity to those living in poverty. Having grown up during the Depression, and later as a single parent raising five children, she understood the meaning of commitment, compassion, and hard work.
As an entrepreneur, she began and operated several successful businesses, including a plant shop, a Christian gift and bookstore, and a cleaning service. She managed the Ronald McDonald House in Denver, CO and in Dallas, TX, caring for families of terminally ill children. In the 80s, she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she attended Christ for the Nations Institute, obtained an Associate's Degree in Practical Theology, and went on overseas mission trips. She also worked as a volunteer coordinator in several churches.
In addition to growing in her walk with the Lord, another of her true passions was the fine arts. Over the years, she wrote many, many praise and worship songs, one of which is published in the Episcopal Hymnal, and her oil, acrylic, and water color paintings are still enjoyed by many.
After her children were grown, she met and was married to Harold Ashton Holdridge for twenty years before he preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son William (Mike) B. Roper, brothers Aquila (Tommy) Constant, David Carmichael of Dallas, TX, Nathaniel (Dick) Constant of Fort Worth, TX, sister Willie Elzie (Kay) Constant, and grandson Jeffrey Scott Wilkins of Las Vegas, NV. She is survived by daughters Sharon Eisner of The Dalles, OR, Bunni Austin (and Jim) of Dallesport, WA, Charlotte Kelsey (and Kurt Morgan) of Monterey, CA, son George (Clay) Wright of TN, nephew Terry Constant (and Cathy) of Fort Worth, TX, niece Sandra Constant, granddaughters Brandi Goyer (and Leon) of North Creek, NY, Lisa Simon (and Jason) of Carrollton, TX, Jeannette Wilkins of Portland, OR, Emily Austin and Kaitlyn Austin of Dallesport, WA, and grandsons Michael (Hemi) Eisner of Colorado Springs, CO, Tannan (Nate) Gannan of Dallesport, WA, Joshua Kelsey of Sydney, Australia, and great-grandsons, Tyler Lucero, Nathan Lucero, Matt Wilkins, and Ricky Waterbury.
Priscilla will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements under the direction of Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, Gresham, OR.
