Ralph Claytor West

Ralph graduated from Hood River High School. He was a logger in the Hood River area and also on the Oregon Coast near Lincoln City. Ralph did sell real estate for a few years. He also worked at Ferell Gas Company in Sandy, Oregon. Ralph married Margery Frances Brower in 1936 in Hood River, Oregon. She preceded him in death in 1984. On May 2, 1986 Ralph married Elaine Parno in Gresham, Oregon. Ralph had lived in Hood River, Lincoln City and then in Gresham since about 1974.

Ralph belonged to the Shriners, was a Mason and a member of the Elks Club Organization in Hood River. His interests included hunting and fishing, gardening, camping, picknicking, sports and family. He was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife Elaine, of Gresham, son, Richard and his wife Judy West of Taylor, Arizona, 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by a son James Edward West and his first wife Margery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.

Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 29th at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at the Blue Lake Ward, 22801 SE Stark St. in Gresham.

Private burial will be at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
