Robert Canoso

Bob was born in 1941 to Lucille and Frank Canoso in Kemmerer, WY. He graduated from North Bend High School in 1959, when he joined the U.S. Navy. After serving four years in the Navy, Bob returned to North Bend and soon began working for GTE. In 1970, his job took him to Gresham, where he lived for over forty years. After nearly twenty years together, Bob married Mary Stewart in 1997.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and rock collecting. In retirement, he fished almost every day. Bob also loved spending time with his family and friends, who will miss him greatly. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, courage, equanimity, and remarkably positive outlook.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Sargon Canoso and sister, Tonya "Tona" Canoso.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Stewart; son, Travis Canoso of Medford, OR; daughters, Amy Valenti of Seattle, WA; Blaine Anderson of Gresham, OR; and Catherine Edington of Hillsboro, OR; seven grandchildren; great-grandson, Alexander Anderson of Gresham, OR; and sister, Liz Lehr of Phoenix, AZ.

The family will hold a private celebration of his life. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
