

Ronald was born on November 28, 1943 in Glendale, California and was the son of Roy and Erma (Hilton) Nolan. He grew up in Washougal, Washington and in Gresham, Oregon and attended Gresham High School. He later completed his Associate’s Degree at Mt. Hood Community College.
In 1961, Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam Conflict as an Aircraft Mechanic station at Takhli AFB in Thailand. He retired in 1971 at the rank of SGT.
On January 16, 1963 he married Jennifer Mary Reeve in Braintree, England. They resided in Gresham in the home he grew up in and they raised two children. Ronald was a welder and mechanic by trade and assisted friends, family and neighbors with projects.
Ronald loved nature and living on the outskirts of Gresham. He enjoyed cars, model airplanes and go-cart races.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Gresham, daughter, Kristie Bollinger of Portland, brother, Dr. Terry Little of Eagle, Idaho and sister, Susan VanDehey of Cornelius, OR. His son Carl preceded him in death in 1993.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Ronald to the Vancouver Volunteers at the Vancouver VA Medical Center, PO Box 1034, Portland, OR 97207, ATTN. Tony Davis. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
