

Ronald Ray “Ronny” Gatten passed away on October 23rd, 2017 at his home in Portland, Oregon. He was born May 29th, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to his parents: Thomas John and Tula Lucille (Lang) Gatten. He attended Rockwood grade school as a young child then went to Gresham High School for his freshman and sophomore year, he then changed schools due to Centennial High School being opened and was in the first graduating class for Centennial.
Ronny married the love of his life, Alice Loretta Miller on October 31st, 1964. They were married until his passing.
In the mid 1960’s he joined Local Union 72, then later joined Local Union 500 to be a journeyman. He retired in 1986. Ronny and Alice were members of the Gresham Eagles Lodge. Ronny also enjoyed playing shuffleboard, pinochle and dominos, shooting pool, watching NASCAR and teasing his grandchildren. He enjoyed working outdoors, he had built a lovely fence around their home, as well as a koi pond. Ronny will always be remembered as a fun guy to be around, a jokester and a prankster, and for his amazing laugh. He will be greatly missed.
Ronny is survived by his loving wife, Alice Loretta Gatten; his children, Una Dianne Cochran, Tammy Rae Peterson, Thomas Clinton Gatten, Todd William Gatten and William Volna Gatten; his grandchildren, Roger and Robert Peterson, Jessica and Todd Gatten Jr., Levi Gatten; and his great grandchildren; William and Alexis Gatten, Carter and Jordan Peterson, and Julius, Malachi, Nuella, and Bree-anna Gatten.
