Auntie Rosie was like a second mother to me and my siblings growing up.  She was a good listener and gave advice. She loved to cook, loved gardening, and loved listening to old songs. She loved her family. We share in your sorrow and will miss her. We Love You Auntie Rosie. Rest in Peace.

Dear Chit, Jude and Family,

To share my first meeting and living with the Tayag family in Makati from Guam in the mid 60’s in my early teens along with my brother Toddy age 6/7. Not to bore anyone with lengthy details, a quick summation of the Tayag and Calagui are first cousins thru each parent’s.

Toddy and I lived in Makati (Tayag home) from Guam roughly about 3 years. Ate Rosie was then married to Kuya Dading and Chit and Jude were practically babies at the time. Unfortunately, couple years earlier Ate Rosie first child (Baby Anellie…Chit correct me is I am wrong) was so devastated by her untimely passing. This totally devastated Ate Rosie for a long time and I imagine never recovered from her loss. Ate wanted so much to have a girl to complete her family. Then she was blessed with Chit and Jude to ease the pain and succumb  the loss of Anellie.
Also at this time Ate Rosie shared two primary homes Makati (Kuya Dading worked for Ayala) and Subic Military Base (sister Ate Pat married to Larson).

As I reminisce my one of my fondest memories as I gazed for the first time is a true beauty (Filipina term Mestiza). Unbeknownst to me her beauty is lies even deeper within. Then I realized that I was graced to know someone Precious who is an embodiment of Goodness, Love and Empathy. We were blessed the Tayag and Calagui family to have had Ate Rosie in their lives a true inspiration.
I gather that as we journey thru our lives there are no exceptions that we all have our share of trials and tribulations but having Ate Rosie by our side (mine especially) a gift from Our Lord kept the family intact thru her strength, perseverance and compassion. She exudes and the embodiment of goodness and wonderful.

Finally, I need to mention my last recollection of Ate Rosie several weeks ago receiving her phone call to hear the sweet melodious voice that will reverberate in my heart always when she utters the first two words greetings calling my name…Hello Mency

Your memory is my keepsake, with which I’ll never part. God has you in His keeping; I have you in my heart. We will miss all that you are, all that you were and most of all, we will miss the effect you had on our lives. Thank you Nanay for everything. You're now with Tatay. We love you always and forever.. May you rest in peace 🕊❤
