

Ryan was born on September 24, 1979 in Portland, Oregon and was the son of Robert and Carolyn (Keels) Oium and raised by his loving parents, Glenn and Cathey Fisher. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1997 and worked at the Oregon Humane Society for 6 years. He married Jennifer Johnson on April 27, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.
In February of 2005, Ryan enlisted in Oregon Army National Guard. He served tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq and was currently stationed and the Gresham Armory as a part of Charlie Company 2 of the 162. He honorable served his country and was posthumously promoted to Staff Sergeant as a token of his loyal service.
He had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed riding quads, golf, camping and fishing. He just recently acquired a love of water skiing and also enjoyed snowboarding. He was an Oregon Ducks Football fan and faithful to the Buffalo Bills regardless of their record.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Vancouver, parents, Cathey Fisher of Beaverton and Glenn Fisher of Yacolt, Washington, sisters, Katrina Deffenbaugh of Yacolt, WA and Keira Matthews of Beaverton along with grandparents, Roy and Louis Larkin and Kenneth and Mary Keels.
A graveside service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. Contributions may be made in memory of Ryan to the Oregon Humane Society. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
