Sam married Beverly June Coffey, his high school sweetheart, in 1952.
Sam was a graduate of Gresham High School. He was a bricklayer who was a 53 year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworker Association Union.
Sam was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gresham. He enjoyed taking trips to Lincoln City Beach and traveling to the Tillamook County Fair for his family annual event. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, flying airplanes, raising thoroughbred horses, and enjoying spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sam is survived by his son John and wife Debbie Paulsen, Boring, OR., daughter, Cheryl and husband Marv Horne, Fairview, OR., daughter K’Lynn and husband Steve Bragg, Gresham, OR., 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.
