

Theresa lived in Ladysmith, Wisconsin with her family until 1943 when they moved to Gresham, Oregon. Upon arriving, she went to work in her aunt’s restaurant. She later went to work for the Shriners at the Masonic Temple in Portland where she was employed for 25 years until she made the decision to stay at home with her family.
On July 18, 1959 she married Fred Rich. They made their home together in Portland for the next 57 years, until the passing of her beloved husband in 2016.
Theresa and her husband were members of the Moose Lodge where they were both very involved and committed for many years. Theresa became a “Woman of the Moose” in November of 1979 where she held many positions and chairs. She held the elected offices of Chaplain, Jr. Regent and two times as Senior Regent. She was awarded the Co-Worker of the year 4 times and chosen to receive the Lifetime Achievement award. In 2003, Theresa received a “Champion for Children” certificate for her support and contributions that helped make a difference in the lives of children of Mooseheart. Theresa supervised the Lodge’s rehab dances for many years, coordinated food donations and preparations for member’s funeral services as well as coordinated food for the Moose annual picnics. For many years you would find Theresa working in the kitchen, helping cook for special functions put on by the Moose Lodge or you would find her and Fred often playing Bingo and visiting with their many friends.
Theresa had a good heart and was always willing to help other people. As a young girl, her mother always told her to help others if she could; she practiced this throughout her life. She was known to many as “Mother Theresa”.
Theresa is survived by 4 children; John (Alisa), Sharon, Robert and Ray. Theresa has 6 grandchildren; Jennifer, Latasha, Amanda, Samantha, Logan and Lacie as well as 3 great grandchildren; Lilly, Evan and Arrow.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fred; Parents; brothers Omar and Vern & Sister Arlene.
