

Raised in Cascade Locks, he graduated from Cascade Locks High School in 1958. He attended college at Eastern Oregon and OCE before serving in the US Army, where he was stationed in France.
In 1962, he married Jeanette Carlson. They lovingly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before her death in 2013. Tom was a successful lumber broker and real estate developer who started his own company, Oregon Forest Products, in 1985. As an avid outdoorsman and devoted family man, he spent many happy days with his wife, children and grandchildren enjoying time in Alaska, Central Oregon, Rockaway Beach and Zig Zag.
He is survived by daughter Jill (Todd) Massinger, son Gregg (Danielle) Embree, four grandchildren, Kate, Ben, Grant and Gracie and two sisters, Gyda Haight and Myrna Schulbach.
His humor, strength, and generous heart will be sincerely missed by so many. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Feb. 4, 2017 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham with a lunch reception to follow.
