Tom,
I’m going to miss you pal.  I’m going to miss all the great conversations, your contagious positivity, interrupting your hard work outside when I’d drive by to shoot the breeze, our heart to hearts at work, your passion for Boeing, all the the times you went the extra mile to bail me out as a construction manager, or all the times you shot down my offer to give you a ride because you didn’t want to “get too comfortable”.  Your story is one of redemption and always supporting others on their journey in whatever capacity they needed.  I”m very grateful to have called you my friend and it was a pleasure to see you so happy these last few years marrying the love of your life!  Cheers to you my friend,  you will be missed by many!

Tom had those Southern mannerisms (Texas) that always gave a warm first impression.

Tom was truly a gift to people lucky enough to know him.  He was always positive and willing to help out.  While discussing work issues or our personal lives, Tom was up beat and up for finding a solution or expressing the joys in his life.

I was deeply saddened to learn about Tom's passing. We worked in different departments, so most of our interaction took place in the hallways or fitness center. Tom was such a sweet, kind, and humble person. He was always so friendly and full of joy. I wish I had gotten to know him better. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and everyone who loved him.

Tom was one of the most positive people I have ever worked with. Every time we passed by each other, he checked in with full sincerity.

Even when he was busy he would take the time to say "it was nice seeing you today." It breaks my heart to know I won't get to share the same sentiment back.

He taught me a lot about taking a deep breath and being grateful for the moment. Tom, you are in my heart and prayers, and I will carry your reminders with me. I know many people bring a higher level of positivity with them everyday, just for having known Tom.

I worked with Tom for over 15 years.  First, when he came back to Boeing as a project manager during the construction of the new plating shop.  Then, as his manger.  And then as his peer.  Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand.  I often referred to Tom as the nicest guy in the world.  Many saw this as a weakness, but I always considered this his greatest strength – an example worthy of emulation.  Tom will be missed by his friends at Boeing Portland.  My deepest condolences to his family, whom he talked about often.  I remember the pictures of his children on his desk, and how proud and happy he was when he met and married Lynda.  This is such a sad tragedy to lose Tom as he was entering retirement.

My favorite memory of Tom was meeting him for the first time after marrying Ben when we went to visit. I wasn’t prepared for the rainy weather and we wanted to go to a ball field. Tom didn’t want me to mess up my shoes so he dug around and found a pair of old sneakers for me wear and insisted I sit in a chair so he could put the shoes on for me. He said he didn’t want me having to touch the old dirty shoes. I felt awkward at the time  but now almost a decade later it was such a sweet gesture and evidence of his loving nature.  I regret we didn’t get much time together with us living so far away but thank you for sharing your kindness, home and family with me.

Tom was an amazing man.  He was one of a kind.  He was so kind and welcoming. He was a true gentleman.  I am honored to have known him but even more proud to call him a friend.  My condolences to his amazing wife Lynda and the rest of the family.  He will always be remembered fondly and deeply missed.

Tom was one of a kind. He was a true example of a gentleman - always getting the door, walking us out to our cars, checking everyone to keep clean language in front of ladies. He had so much love to give, and spread it freely to his family. From day one I was welcomed with open arms and I truly loved him and having him as a father in law.  We were so lucky to have Tom a part of our lives.
