

Mr. Griffin was born January 12, 1924 in Spindale, N.C. He was the son of the late W.L. Griffin and Lillan Burns Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving during W.W.II. He was a life time member of the V.F.W. Mr. Griffin was a member of several local organizations including, Kiwanis Club, Griffin Spalding Historical Society, and the Griffin Country Club. Mr. Griffin was a long time member of First United Methodist Church, Men’s Bible Class, and Young at Heart. Mr. Griffin retired after many years of loyal service from Thomaston Mills where he was the Area Superintendent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Thomas Griffin.
Survivors include his son, Spencer Griffin, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gordon Dixon; grandchildren, Emily Griffin, Gregory Semich and his finace’ Heather Beam, John Gordon Dixon and his wife Allison, Richard Dixon, Robert Dixon and his wife Merissa, James Harrill and his wife, Debbie; great-grandchildren, Tristan Semich, Maddox Semich, Canon Vining, Lauren Epperson, Katie Harrill, Matthew Harrill, and Emille Harrill; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Boyce L ”Bud” Griffin will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, Rev. Kevin Lobello will officiate. Entombment will follow in Westwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
