Mrs. Ethel Mae McLendon Calhoun

Mrs. Calhoun was born September 28, 1925 in Fayetteville, daughter of the late Albert Alfonzo McLendon and the late Mattie Lee Chappell McLendon. She was a member of Hill Street Church of Christ, First Friends and the Griffin Moose Club. Mrs. Calhoun was an avid supporter of the National Law Enforcement Fund and the National WWII Memorial Fund. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Royce Calhoun; son, Billy Royce Calhoun; grandson, Eric Royce Williams Calhoun and brother, James Harvey McLendon.

Survivors include daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Calhoun Williams; son & daughter-in-law, James Kevin & Deborah Ann Calhoun; grandson, Fredrick Ivey Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Eric Benjamin Calhoun, Patrick Wyatt Calhoun and sister, Marjorie Lavada McLendon Gray. Nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Mae Calhoun will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Minister Travis Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the County Line Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
