Mrs. Iris Murphy Sutton

Mrs. Sutton was born in Mattoon, Illinois June 1, 1920 to the late Morris Murphy and the late May Collinsworth Murphy. She was a retired food service employee for the California Department of Education. Mrs. Sutton was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Leroy Sutton, grandson, Christopher Rainwater and a great grandchild.

Survivors include a daughter Betty Sutton of Griffin; sons, Michael Sutton of Griffin and Jerry Sutton of Washington; sister, Wanda Ferguson of Illinois; Other survivors include her grandchildren, Greg Rainwater and wife Jeanne of Lawrenceville and Alan Rainwater of Lawrenceville, Gina Thayer and husband Mark of Massachusetts, Jeremiah Sutton and wife Kelsey of Griffin, Dawn Poythress and husband Brian of Hephzibah, Tammy Sutton of Nevada, Butch Sutton and wife Susie of Oregon and Michael Sutton and wife Belinda of Washington as well as fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Iris Sutton will be conducted on Thursday March 28, 2013, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Hunter will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 27, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
