Mr. James Thomas Baxter Jr

Mr. Baxter was born September 27, 1927 in Griffin son of the late James Thomas Baxter, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Tackett Baxter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Baxter of Fayetteville; son, Perry & Peggy Baxter of Locust Grove; daughter, Joanne & Gene Jones of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jason Baxter, Shannon VanVoorhis, Anita Dillard, Michelle Handley, Teresa Crawford and Adam Jones; great-grandchildren, Richard Dillard, Maggie Dillard, Baxter Dillard, Ashley Baxter, Madison Baxter, Christina Handley, Rachel Handley, Brittani Crawford and Lili McGriff.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. James Thomas Baxter, Jr. will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Gene Turkett will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Dr., Suite 3, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy., Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067 in memory of Mr. Baxter.
