Mr. Joel Louis Cook

Mr. Cook was born April 21, 1945 in Thomaston, son of the late Woodrow Cook and the late Doris McFall Pitts. Mr. Cook was a renowned gambler and an avid golfer known to his friends as J.L. & J-Bird. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darcy Lynn Cook; brother, Tony Cook and sister, Joan Cook.

Survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Angelique & Ken Jones and Tenille Cook; son & daughter-in-law, Jack & Diane Keen; brother, Jerry Pitts; sisters, Judy Farr and June Woolwine; mother of his children, Linda Stover all of Griffin; grandchildren, Michael Perkins, Taylor Perkins, Blake Jones, Kaylee Keen & Devin Keen. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Denel James will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Saturday 1 hour prior to the service.
