

She had recently celebrated her 88th birthday with immediate family. Born on July 6, 1926 in Falkville, Alabama, she was a devout Christian, member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Griffin. A retired English teacher and fiercely competitive bridge player, she was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Mrs. Hadley received a BA in teaching from Florence State Teachers College and an MA in English from Delta State University. During her 40 plus year teaching career in Alabama public schools and Gordon State College she was beloved by students and parents alike. She retired to Griffin, Georgia in 1986 and immediately became an active member of the community. She loved community service, travel and spending time with friends and family.
Mrs. Hadley is survived by daughters Susan Kierbow, Nancy Beck (James Parker), Amy Fields (Barry) and son Jason Hadley (Michele Louzon), six grandchildren Abby Newton (Chris), Harry Kierbow (Jessica), Nick and Megan Davis-Fields, Jesse and Jake Louzon-Hadley and one great grandson Eli Kierbow.
Visitation will commence at 1pm on Monday, September 1 at the First Baptist Church of Griffin with services to follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Baptist Church of Griffin or Griffin Humane Society.
