Mary Ellen Callahan Mount

Ms. Mount was born January 27, 1951 in Homestead, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Callahan and Dorothy Caldwell Callahan, and her oldest brother, Bill Callahan. A graduate of Georgia State University, Ms. Mount spent most of her professional life working as an events coordinator and was currently an Administrative Assistant in the office of Academic Affairs at the UGA-Griffin Campus. She loved reading, working in her yard, and working on projects at her house with her best friend, Becky.

Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Susan Callahan, sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Mitch Gilmer, sister-in-law, Carol Callahan, several nieces and a nephew, seven great nieces and nephews, her precious friend Tennie, and her beloved cats, Dude and Goober.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. Visitation will be in the church Welcome Center at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Cobb County, 148 Fairground St., S.E., Marietta, GA 30060 in memory of Ms. Mount.
