

Albert A. Patrosso, age 92, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on January 9, 2018. Al was born on January 26, 1925 in Clinton, Indiana; the son of Domenick and Amalia Patrosso. After moving to Detroit as a child, he graduated Cass Technical High School in 1942. After high school, Al served his county in the US Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946. He was a bombardier in the South Pacific with the 7th Air Force. After the war, he continued his education and graduated the University of Michigan in 1952 with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation as a Climate Control Engineer for 48 years; from June 1953 until he retired on March 18, 2001. On Saturday, May 9, 1953, Albert married Sara L. Thorpe at the Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in Detroit. They were married 58 years until her death on December 29, 2011. Als hobbies included gardening, church service, cooking and reading. Al is survived by his two sons, Mark and Gary (Jeanne) and his two granddaughters, Aubry and Brittany. He was predeceased by his wife Sara, mother Amalia, father Domenick, sisters Rose Biebuyck and Dolores Betcher and brothers-in-law Victor Biebuyck and Eugene Betcher. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 9:00 pm Friday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. His body will lie instate at Crosspointe Christian Church, 21336 Mack Avenue (at Old Eight Mile Road), Grosse Pointe Woods from 10 am Saturday until funeral at 11 am. Rev. Matthew Swiatek will officiate. Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Crosspointe Christian Church, 21336 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236 in lieu of flowers.
