Alberta Joyce Van Pelt passed away August 21, 2017 at her home in the Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo, Florida. Born May 16, 1920, in Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Saint Rita High School. Most of her life was spent in Grosse Pointe where she was an active boater, tennis player, and bowler. She was predeceased by the love of her life David B. Van Pelt, her husband for more than 50 years. She and Dave had four children, Thomas, Carol, David, and Bruce. She was a devoted Grandmother that doted on all seven Grandchildren. Her spare time was spent helping charitable groups. An avid reader, she was a member of several Book Clubs. She will be missed by us all. A funeral service will be held on at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 28th, at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. Entombment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
