Amy Richards passed away peacefully at Sunrise Assisted living Center in Grosse Pointe Woods on April 8, 2014, at the age of 94. She was born on January 5, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts; daughter of Charles and Lilly (nee Miliken) Knightley. Mrs. Richards was highly educated and retired as a professor of English at Wayne State University. She was an avid traveler who traveled all over the world. Services will be held privately. Mrs. Richards is survived by her loving daughters Ann DiFiore (Mario), Martha Barnes (Robert), and Jane Gilbert (the late Thomas). She was proud of her grandchildren Maria (Scott), David, Thomas Jr. (Lisa), Daniel (Krista), and Caitlin (Paul). Great-grandmother of Jacob, Austin, Alexander, and Valerie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church, 17150 Maumee, Grosse Pointe, MI 48230.
