Ann Marie Verkest

Ann (Anneke) Marie Verkest, age 84, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 27th,2025.

Ann (lovingly known as Anneke by her parents and Belgian family) was born in Detroit, MI, to parents Albert and Marguerite Mortier. Ann was preceded in death by her husband (Ronald Verkest) and is survived by her daughters, Laura Ann Dwyer (Timothy Dwyer) and Lisa Marie Caretti (Joseph Caretti), and her grandchildren Richard, Marguerite, and Joseph.

Ann Marie cherished many lifelong friendships formed during her time at St. Juliana School and Parish. She was also deeply loved by her former coworkers at Lakeshore Allergy, where she worked for many years. Ann had resided at Lakeshore American House and had lived independently and happily until her sudden decline.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held in early fall, where friends and family are invited to gather in her memory. A private graveside service will also take place, during which Ann will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
