Antonella Marie McGrath

Antonella McGrath passed away on December 15, 2018 at the age of 76. She was born on February 26, 1942 in Cararra, Italy; daughter of Anthony and Augusta (nee Gemignani) Saponare. She came to the United States with her mother when she was nine to be reunited with her father. On March 14, 1980, Antonella married Thomas McGrath. The couple enjoyed 38 years together. She will be remembered as a friend to everyone that met her. In her spare time, Antonella loved to read a and cook. She is survived by her loving husband Tom. She was proud of her son Thomas (Olivia) Linguanti. She adored her granddaughters Isabella and Charlotte. She will be missed by her sister Donatella Saponare (Fred Orlando) and brother Frank Saponare (Dorothy). She was a wonderful aunt to Kristi and Frankie. She will be missed by her step-children Megan and Sean. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 2:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice and the wishes of the family.
