Avis Marie Schmitt, age 92, died February 4, 2016, at her home. She was born March 21, 1923 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Avis was a retired office manager working at several companies in the automotive world. Beloved wife of the late Victor L. who predeceased her in 1983. Dearest mother of Lawrence (Veronica Engle)Schmitt, Patricia (Thomas) Miller, Judith Schmitt, Susan (Ryan) Beckmann, James Schmitt and Carol (Frank) Wisniewski. Loving and proud grandmother of eleven; great-grandmother of ten and one great-great granddaughter. Visitation Sunday 2:00PM-9:00PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic), Warren. In state Monday 10:00AM with mass at 10:30AM, St Athanasius Catholic Church, 18720 E 13 Mile Rd, Roseville, MI. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
