Barbara Therese Tess, age 88, died on Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born on May 11, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the daughter of the late Loretta Marie (nee Hemmen) and John Joseph McKernan. Barbara was employed with the Warren Consolidated Schools working at the Sterling Heights High School and the Career Prep Center for over 30 years. Beloved wife of the late Gerald F. Tess. Loving mother of James Tess (Christina Rondy), Robert (Gayle) Tess, and Barbara C. Tess M.D. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Jennifer) Tess, Patrick (Carrie) Tess, Christopher Tess, and Melissa Vedder (Robert White). Great-grandmother of Jeremy, Oliver, Alex, Cassie, and Dominick. Sister of James McKernan, Kathleen Staskowski, Daniel McKernan, and the late Terrance McKernan, Thomas McKernan, and Mary McKernan. Also survived by many loving family members and her loving dog Maggie. Visitation Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. Rosary Tuesday 7:00 pm. Instate Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 10:30 am until time of funeral Mass 11:00 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road, Warren. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Memorials to Capuchin Soup Kitchen or to the Arthritis Foundation would be appreciated.
