Ben Howard Bonsky

Ben Howard Bonsky, died suddenly on July 23, 2013. He was born in Detroit on November 16, the son of Stanley and Leah (nee Atherton) Bonsky. Ben graduated Hazel Park High School and attended Macomb Community College and Lawrence Institute. He became a master electrician and worked for 30 years at General Motors and 13 years at Chrysler's Warren Stamping Plant until his death on Tuesday. Ben enjoyed ballroom dancing and met Cindy Knox at the Arthur Murray School of Dance. They married on July 10, 1985 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. Ben enjoyed laughing, jokes, reading, computer games and his grandchildren. He was a fun-loving man who liked to joke and kid around. He was a 4th Degree member of the St. Joan of Arc Council, Knights of Columbus. Ben is survived by his wife, Cindy Ann Knox; children, Corin Sargeant (Paul), Steve Knox (Rochelle), Stanley Bonsky (Jennifer), and Bethany Koziara (Kyle); grandchildren, Kaiya, Kalen, Tara, Dylan, Joslyn, Mira, Julia, Sebastian, Eric, Benjamin, Katdaleina, Michael, Aiden and Macen; his mother Leah Bonsky; siblings, Bonnie Frank (Larry), Barbara VanDoeslaar (Tom Louzecky), Becky Castaldo (Louie), William Bonsky (Susan), Brenda D'Agostino (Curt) and Beth Thacker (Dwayne) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Stanley Bonsky. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. A scripture service will be held at 7 o'clock Sunday evening. He will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Cathoic Church, 21620 Greater Mack at Overlake in St. Clair Shores from 11:30 a.m. Monday until mass at 12 noon. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate.
