Beverly died peacefully, April 28, 2015, at her home with her daughters at her side. She was born December 8, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Bertha Hill. She was part of a singing trio, The Hill Sisters, while still in high school, with her sisters Carol and Lynne, singing for school and church functions, on the Soupy Sales Show and even sang back up for Jackie Carbone and making a record themselves under the Motown label. Beverly graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1959. She married John Hopper on May 20, 1961 at the First Methodist Church in Hazel Park. She worked a short time for General Finance, but decided to stay at home to raise her 3 girls. Enjoyed to cook and bake, especially pies, cookies, strudel and her famous rolls! Holidays were her favorite time to enjoy with her family. She loved gardening, took pride in her lawn and beautiful flowers. Beverly always put everyone else's needs before her own and enjoyed time with her family sitting on the front porch or watching Tigers or Red Wings games. Loved caring for her grandchildren, watching soccer games, dance recitals, choir concerts and baking Christmas cookies with them. She loved music and to laugh and sing and would come up with a song to almost everything you said to her! Ultimately, she lost her battle to pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed October 2013, but she was truly a fighter to the very end! Beverly was predeceased by her husband John. She was proud of her three daughters Tracey (Mike) Barthel, Jody Otto, and Candice (Joe) Sawyer. She adored her grandchildren Justin, Becky, Matt, Kaitlyn, and Shelley. She will be missed by her sister Lynne Wikarski (the late Ron). She was predeceased by her sister Carol Villareal (the late Al). Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods.
