Catherine was a passionate child advocate who spent her career in pursuing the developmental and emotional well-being of those she cared for. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher and continued her education to become a school psychologist for the Warren Consolidated public school district.
She was heavily involved with various philanthropic and civic organizations throughout the Detroit area. These included sitting on the board of directors for Southwest Solutions, Grosse Pointe Soroptimist, and a member of the alumni board for Mary Grove College.
She will be remembered as a very outgoing and warm individual who never met a stranger. She along with her husband, Ed, traveled domestically and abroad. Her travels to Italy were among her most memorable, as well as Cuba, Spain, Amsterdam, Germany, Alaska, Hawaii, the National Parks and Canada. She looked at every human as part of her extended family, without prejudice or judgment.

Baldwin; her daughter, Leah Khaghani (Brian Lutz) of San Francisco; her two step children, Adam Baldwin (Elizabeth) and Andrea Lombardo (Scott), both of Fenton; 4 grandchildren, Shahin, Jahan, Anousheh, and Nicolas; her sister, Victoria Coppola of Eastpointe and numerous extended family; nieces, nephews and close friends.
Aside from her loving parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Isabelle Yaroch, Frank and Anthony Mancina.
