Christ Daskas was born on July 4, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Greek immigrant parents, Mike and Anna Daskas. He graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit, and at the age of 22 went to serve in the United States Armed Forces in the European Theater. He served for two years, attaining the rank of Sargent First Class. After honorary discharge, he went to work for his father at Detroit Veal and Lamb. He later went on to establish Chicago Beef Co., a wholesale meat processing and distribution company in Eastern Market, Detroit. In the year 1986, he also established and co-owned KBD, Inc. in Detroit. Christ met his wife, Stephanie, at a wedding and they were married one year later in the fall of 1957. They later moved to Grosse Pointe, where they raised their three children: Michael (Dori), Mary Anna Daskas, and Christina (Thomas) Toth. He was also blessed with six grandchildren. Christs first love was his family, and his second love was boating. He also had a passion for woodworking and would often make furniture, model boats and cabinetry. Christ was well known for his social personality, generosity, and loving heart. As the patriarch of the Daskas family, he was beloved by many family and friends and was cherished among people from all walks of life.
