"In memory of our dear colleague, Chris Felcyn...." came floating out to me from the radio on Monday, October 1st. "What!!!" I gasped and ran to the radio for more elucidation. But the radio host had finished his short in memoriam statement & the music played. I quickly searched WRCJ website to find that, indeed, my favorite radio host had died suddenly on Friday, September 28. I was shocked, devastated & weeping, as so many of his fans must still be. Cosmos bless you, Chris, and keep you tenderly ... until we meet again. You are sorely missed.

I just returned from out of the country to learn the sad news that we have lost Chris Felcyn. I am more affected than I could have foreseen: it's as if a family member is gone. His voice was a part of my day for many years. No matter if I was working or resting, his voice emanated bright cheer, musical knowledge and life wisdom from my kitchen radio. My gratitude to his family for sharing him with us.

I've been away from the radio for a while, apparently -- I just learned today that Chris Felcyn is gone. I've been listening to Chris for years as I've moved to and from Detroit, then back again. I'll truly miss his personal, down-to-earth way of putting music into perspective for the listener -- never a snooty "this-is-how-you-listen-to-'classical'-music"approach. Rather, he communicated his view that good music is good music, whatever the genre, and he gave listeners an idea of how the lives of the composers affected the music they created. His conversational style almost made you talk back to the radio; it truly seemed like he was in the room with you. My condolences to his family. I was shocked to learn of his death today.

You get to dance with Lady Anne again! Rest in peace, Chris. You're missed and remembered fondly.

Chris was a formidable presence, a thought-leader and a trusted advisor to management in my years as GM at WDET. He will be missed.

So sorry Chris is gone, condolences for the family. I remember when I first heard him on the radio when we were in Michigan for the summer. I remarked he sounded like my dad and he must be a cousin. My condolences to the family and his many friends, many who knew him from his voice on Detroit radio. What a voice, charm, eloquence and knowledge about music (and food!) I got to work with him for awhile on a kids TV series, BabesWorld. He directed and I wrote the music. He was always a joy to work with and I'm glad to have known this gentle loving soul. We will miss him and his memorable voice at WRCJ afternoons.

Sincere condolence to Chris' family. I was fortunate to associate with him while writing for the Public Radio Collective in WDET. He helped me find a vintage copy of Autumn to use in the radio-play "Dreamliner Titanic". Chris was a gentleman, a true artist who made our world a better place. If art is God's language, just imagine the conversations he is having now. Heaven is a little bit more glorious.

Chris, I will certainly miss your humor and witty posts on my Facebook timeline. It has been a pleasure to share work with you on all the Ford projects, way back when...... A true professional and all around great guy.....

I drive for a living and it was more than a pleasure listening to Chris and his antidotes. I feel like I lost a family member. Somehow, driving on Michigan roads won't be the same again. .

Such a sweet soul. A talent that will be missed in the classical world.

He kept me company over so many hours, so many years. I loved listening to him all these years - wonderful radio personality, so knowledgeable, intelligent programming. His absence from the airwaves will be felt by thousands. May his memory be for a blessing.

I was shocked when I heard this loss today on WRCJ 90.9FM: Chris was a radio giant (WDET also) who shall be missed. Condolences to the family, RIP.

I too was shocked by the news....Chris, you were the coolest part of my mid day!

Chris will be missed by many that his life had touched in one way or another over the years. I personally learned much of my video directing skills from working with him at Ford in the "Video Valley". He was always great to work with, and I will always remember him. My condolences to his family and friends.

It's not just my loss of an old friend, it's everyone's loss out of those who knew him personally and also those who listened to Chris's programs on WRCJ and only knew him from the voice they heard over the air. His hand was in so many musical and theatrical projects. RIP peace old friend. Maybe we'll greet each other again in that great concert hall in the sky.

Always enjoyed listening to Chris on WRCJ, one of my favorite radio hosts. Great interviewer that always established a quick rapport with who he was interviewing. So sad to hear about Chris. I loved working with him at WTVS on various projects over the years. He was always a joy to converse with and so funny. His voice unmistakable. We never met in person, but his voice was a constant companion to me whenever I was in the car. His wit and musical acumen were truly inspiring. I will miss our on-air friendship sorely.
