Christopher E. Pozios

Christoforos, affectionately known as "Christopher" and "CP", was born July 7, 1931 in Koumbourgiana, Greece to Evangelos and Panagiota Pozios. He passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Dearborn, MI. Christopher came to the United States in 1956 to the city of Detroit. Christopher worked downtown Detroit at American Coney Island for 20 years before he, along with his brother Ted, purchased Coney Island Lunch in Downtown Port Huron. His businesses were later renamed Mama Vickis Coney Island to honor his beloved wife upon her passing. Upon relocating to Marysville, MI in 1976, Christopher became a staunch member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He took an active role in the church, volunteering at all church events and serving for many years on the Parish Council. When he wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. CP was often the first one at the pool at Hammock Pine "HP", his winter home in Clearwater, FL, laying in the sunshine and reminiscing. He was always dressed with distinction, even at the pool. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed grilling steak and eating makaronia and sneaking in a few spoons of ice cream for dessert. He enjoyed playing card games like Diloti with friends and family. He loved watching the Baltimore Orioles play baseball. Friends and family would often see Christopher walking at the mall or in his neighborhood, setting a positive example by taking good care of himself. When he wasnt walking, his favorite means of transportation was his car. He loved geography and studying maps and going on road trips. His generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand knew no bounds. He will be remembered by many. Beloved husband of the late Vicki, who passed away in 2003. Loving father of Bill (Jeannie) Pozios, Evans (Dory) Pozios, and Patty Pozios. Dear grandfather of Victoria Pozios, Zoe Pozios, Evie Pozios, and Christopher Pozios. Loved brother of Toula Katsaros, Vasilios Kambouris, Eva (Peter) Caruso, John (Eugenia) Pozios, Theofanis (Koula) Pozios, Gus (Toni) Pozios, and Fotoula Pozios. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evangelos and Panagiota; Siblings, Georgia Alexopoulos, Vasilios Pozios, and Argyro Kambouris; Siblings-in-law Andreas Alexopoulos and Evangelos Katsaros. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 PM with the Trisagion service at 7 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. In-state Wednesday 9:30 AM until time of Mass 10 AM at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Rd., St. Clair Shores, MI Entombment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI Memorials in Christopher's memory are appreciated to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (SCS, MI) or St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (Sarnia, ON).
