Dale A. Johnston was born in Grosse Pointe Farms in 1944. Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He survived by the love of his life, his wife Lois; his loving sons Kerry, Kyle (Michele), Kelly (Robin), and Kory (Kelly); also his grandchildren Owen, Sara and Eli. He retired in 1998 as a sergeant from the Detroit Police Department after twenty-five years of exemplary service to the city. His duties included firearms examining and bomb disposal. Mr. Johnston received a bachelor's of science degree in chemistry from Wayne State University with majors in physics and mathematics. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Funeral Service Thursday 2 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Ponte Woods. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 pm.
