Daniel "Danny" H. Boyce was born June 20,1941 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Hugo and Florence (nee Gassman) Boyce. He passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on February 22, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Daniel graduated from St. Ambrose High School before attending several classes at Lawrence Tech. He eventually found himself working for Michigan Bell and later AT&T as a support technician; a career he enjoyed for many years before he retired to rest and spend time with his family. Danny was a true friend to many people throughout his life; he leaves many great stories and memories behind. He was admired for the way he lived life to the fullest and was always laughing and having a good time. Vacationing was one of Dannys favorite things to do, whether it was going on a cruise, or going up north. Getting away was one of his favorite treats in life. While up north he enjoyed hunting and boating. He was also an amazing party host, as he invited friends and neighbors to come enjoy his swimming pool to escape the heat of summer. Danny was also a proud U.S. Army Veteran, who served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was fondly known as the "160 pounds of Rompin Stompin Airborne Meat". He entered into the service in January of 1961 and was honorably discharged in February 1964. While Danny was serving he was awarded the Parachutist. Upon his discharge he was also a member of the VFW Bruce Post. Danny is the beloved husband of Sandy (nee Hamilton) Boyce for 53 years; the dear father of Danny (Theresa), Rhonda, and Janice (Brent). He treasured his grandchildren Courtney, Brooke, Danny, Chelsie, Chloe, Brent, and Kourtney. He will also be missed by his siblings Charles (the late Sandra), and Patricia (the late Robert), his siblings-in-law Carole (the late Douglas) Fournier, Janice (John) Walker and the late Roberta (surviving husband Gilbert) Lowery. He was very dear uncle to Bobby, Lee, Mike, Cheryl, Tim, Denise, Charlie, Mary, Mike, Kelly, Peggy, Don, Robbe, Lisa, Gena, Scott, Doug, Lori, Cheri, Tracy, Kathy, Randy, Johnny, Rochelle and the late Laura. Visitation for Danny will be Tuesday February 26, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. Warren (at Masonic). He will lie instate Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 10:00am until the time of service 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 15004 Hampton Rd, Grosse Pointe Park. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, Michigan. Your love and friendship were the greatest gifts you could have given Danny, but if you would like to send something for his family please make donations to the 82nd Airborne, Heart to Heart Hospice, or the Alzheimers Association.
