David Bacalso Capobres Jr.

David Capobres Jr. passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a life marked by kindness and steady devotion. He was a caring father and husband who always put his family first.

Music was a constant in Dave’s life. He was a self-taught guitarist and drummer, and he loved a good jam session, whether alone or with his buddies.

Dave also had a passion for classic cars. He liked all types of cars, but especially 1960’s Mopar’s, and he always had a project going.

Golf gave him another kind of peace. He appreciated the calm focus of the game, camaraderie, and the time it gave him to unwind. He taught both his kids the game, eventually even breaking up his weekend foursome to include his son in the fun.

For more than thirty years, Dave worked for the City of Detroit and took great pride in his work. He was a dedicated employee and was well-liked by everyone he worked with.

One of the greatest joys of his life was being a grandpa. Even in illness, he cherished every moment with his grandchildren, celebrating their milestones, laughing at their jokes, and offering the same love and patience he shared with his own children.

Dave leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and simple joys. He will be remembered for his big heart, his easy smile, and the way he made the world feel a little lighter for those who knew him. His family and friends will carry his memory with them, grateful for the time they shared and the love he gave so freely.

David is predeceased by siblings, Chris Howe and Alex Alogann. He is survived by his cherished wife of 44 years, Cindi; adored children, Ellen (Yonathan) Mariscal and Tom (Jessica) Capobres; and loving grandchildren, Maxi, Leo, Perla, Chaz, and Xander. Dave is also survived by his sister Sue Stocking and brother Don Capobres.

A memorial visitation will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, located at 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, 48236 on December 6, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM
