Dianne Lynn Mannino, f/k/a Cinco (née Pfefferle), age 76, passed away peacefully December 21, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan. Born in Detroit, August 3, 1949, she lived a vibrant and full life marked by resilience, love, and deep devotion to family.
Over her lifetime, Dianne lived in many cities across Michigan—each move, marking a new chapter shaped by career opportunities or matters of the heart. For the past 15 years, she made Ann Arbor her home, where she found joy in its rich arts community and culinary scene.
Dianne’s professional journey began humbly at Stan-Yee's Collision, a small auto-body shop where she worked as a manager and bookkeeper. Her intelligence, integrity, and unwavering work ethic quickly propelled her forward. She rose through the ranks to become a highly respected auto insurance executive in the special investigation fraud unit beginning in the late 1980s. Her colleagues valued her wisdom and trustworthiness—qualities which earned her roles that required exceptional judgment and moral clarity.
Dianne also had an adventurous spirit and an eye for beauty. She loved attending live concerts and plays, exploring arts and crafts shows, shopping for the perfect pair of shoes, savoring delicious meals with friends and family, and immersing herself in nature. Her love of travel took her across the U.S. including many winters spent in Florida with her mother and brother and abroad to numerous European countries. Of all the places she visited, Venice, Italy, held a special place in her heart. One of her most treasured experiences was an epic month-and-a-half cross-country road trip with her daughter Amanda, her son-in-law, Kevin, and their two dogs. It was a journey filled with laughter, discovery, and unforgettable memories.
While Dianne achieved great success and fulfillment in her career and interests outside of work, she always knew what she wanted most in life: to be a mother. She fulfilled that dream with boundless love and devotion to her daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Cinco-Hoyt. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she extended that same warmth and care to her granddaughters, Amalia and Phoenix Hoyt. Whether it was spoiling them with affection or sharing adventures together, Dianne relished every moment spent with them.
Dianne loved hard—with a heart as big as her laugh—and those who knew her felt the depth of that love. She embraced life’s joys with open arms and faced its challenges with grace. She experienced two marriages, Victor Cinco (1976 – 1984) and Loren Mannino (1995-2001), and she remained grateful for the extended families they brought into her life. She welcomed stepchildren from both unions into her heart as if they were her own.
Dianne’s family was the heart of her world. In addition to Amanda, Kevin, Amalia and Phoenix, she is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Bruce Pfefferle and Carol "Suzy" (George) Popowiecki; her nephews and nieces Steve Pfefferle, Brandon Popowiecki, Lynn Popowiecki, Shawn Ann Pfefferle, and April Landino Purser; her former husband Loren Mannino; her stepchildren Shawn (Jodie) Cinco, Kim (Mark) Cinco, Michael (Samantha) Mannino, and Christine Mannino; and her faithful canine companion, Daffodil. She also leaves behind numerous living friends and family.
She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Anna Merle Pfefferle, cousin Yvonne DeJean, and former husband Victor Cinco.
A celebration of Dianne’s life will be held in the spring, where family and friends will gather to honor a woman whose presence left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
May Dianne’s memory continue to bring comfort to those who loved her—and may we all carry forward the warmth of her generous spirit.
