Donald was born on August 14, 1941 to parents Peter and Agnes Reilly in Detroit, Michigan. As a kid, one of his favorite things to do was to visit the Jefferson Beach Amusement Park while it was still open. In the 1960s, Donald went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the Detroit College of Business. Later on in life, Donald found the woman of his dreams, Ann. They were married for 53 beautiful years. He enjoyed big band music like Glenn Miller or the Dorsey Brothers. He also liked spending his time reading, typically you could find him with a suspenseful mystery, or maybe a history book. He also had a camera that he enjoyed using to take pictures of the flora and fauna in his backyard. Donald also loved comedy shows, Laurel & Hardy, Red Skelton, and Jackie Gleason were some of his favorite comedians. Though, that sense of humor didn’t translate well into his own jokes. Donald had some of the most lengthy, bad jokes you’d ever hear, and it would take a few minutes to get to the punchline, but he was known for those types of jokes. He also enjoyed traveling; Frankenmuth, Houghton Lake, and Scotland in 1972 were some of his favorite trips. Donald also had a huge sweet tooth. If it had an obscene amount of sugar in it, he liked it. Donald was loved and cherished by so many, and will be deeply missed.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ann Reilly; cherished father of Christopher (Julie) Reilly; adored grandfather to furbabies Shadow, and the recently departed Lily; loving brother of William (Paula) Reilly, and cherished uncle to Heather Reilly.
