Dorothy Louise Nicholson

Dorothy Louise Nicholson died on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the age of 94. She was born on July 21, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio; the daughter of Oliver and Anna Young. She married William Clyde Nicholson in Napoleon, Ohio when she was 17 years old. Together they raised three wonderful children. Dorothy was an avid card player and enjoyed bingo. She loved spending time with family and friends. After her children were all grown up, she would watch and take care of her neighbors' children and often times would take them to and from school. Her friends and neighbors appreciated the time and effort she gave to the children in her neighborhood. Beloved wife of the late William Clyde Nicholson. Loving mother of William T. (Mary Catherine) Nicholson, Robert C. (Lori) Nicholson, and Joanne "Joey" (the late George) McCollum. Cherished grandmother of Sherrie (John) Wrinkle, Bob (Jennifer) Nicholson, Gary (Courtney) Nicholson, Michael (Sue) Nicholson, James (Kim) Nicholson, Heather (Jon) Hartwick, Rick (Bobbie) Athey, and Mark Athey. Great-grandmother of Elizabeth Nicholson, Jeremy (Brittany) Nicholson, Jim Nicholson, Samantha Hartwick, Jonathan Hartwick, Hunter Hartwick, William Hartwick, Quinton Athey, Austin Athey, Nick Leppo, Chris Leppo, Gabby Leppo, Garrett Nicholson, Sean Nicholson, Chloe Nicholson, and Troxler Nicholson. Aunt of Betty (Frank) Belko. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation Monday, May 18, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of the funeral service 2:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. Interment will be in St. John Memorial Cemetery on Mulvey Road in Fraser, Michigan immediately following the funeral service.
