It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Douglas Hawkins, who left us on June 3, 2025 at the age of 77. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, his two cherished children, Lindsay (Mark) and Jeff, and his two adored grandchildren, Aubrey and Ella. He also leaves behind his sister, Joan, and many dear nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Harold, his sister, Carol, and his brother, Gerald.
A lifelong fan of all things Michigan sports, Doug could often be found cheering for his favorite teams, never missing a game if he could help it. He had a particular fondness for friendly wagers with family and friends.
Doug embodied the spirit of Clark Griswold when it came to family vacations, always planning epic trips and ensuring that every moment was an adventure. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than watching them participate in the many sports and activities they enjoyed.
Always outgoing and endlessly curious, Doug had a gift for making friends wherever he went. He struck up conversations with waitstaff and strangers alike—never meeting a question he didn’t want to ask.
