

Douglas Herringshaw was born November 19, 1932 in Midland, MI to George and Laura Herringshaw one of eight brothers and sisters. He entered into rest February 8, 2016 in Warren, MI, with his family by his side. Doug had a teaching certificate from Central Michigan University, and a Masters degree from Wayne State University. He retired from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, MI after 35 years of teaching industrial arts, where he also coached the baseball and hockey teams. Doug loved making clocks and was very hands-on. He loved to garden and would frequently supply his neighbors with homegrown fruits and vegetables. He always had his dog by his side, and was an avid camper, traveling with his family as often as possible. A real family man, he never missed an event his children or grandchildren were in. Doug is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis, twin brother Don (Louise), sister Ruth (Pat), his children Steven (Martha), Michael, Gregory, and Cynthia Bohn. And also survived by his grandchildren Ted, Abbey, Cameron, Collin, and Amelia, and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday from 11-1pm, with memories being shared at 12:30pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, at Masonic, Warren.
