Dr. Fred Henderson

Frederic Christ Henderson, M.D. Beloved husband of Patricia L. (nee Carpenter) age 81 died June 5, 2009. Former resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. Loving father of William (Nancy), Christi (Steven) Turner, and Jeanne (Michael) DeRonne. Devoted grandfather of Craig, Scott, Julia and Ryan Henderson, Matthew and Trisha Turner, Jeffrey and Katherine DeRonne. He is survived by his mother-in-law Margaret Carpenter and brother-in-law Charles Carpenter (Nancy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by one older brother Hugh Henderson, M.D. Born in Detroit, Dr. Henderson was a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Medical Officer in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956. Completed his medical training at Detroit Receiving Hospital, and worked for many years as an Internist/Cardiologist on the staff at St. John Hospital in Detroit. The family will receive visitors on Sunday June 14th from 2:00 until 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at First English Lutheran Church on Monday June 15 an 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
