Mr. LaTour proudly served in the Korean War as a Supply Sergeant. Shortly after the war, Edward married his sweetheart Lois Holly on October 10, 1953 at St. Gertrude Church in St Clair Shores. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. Edward was a salesman for Service Steel and Weld-Tube. After retiring, he went to work in the hardware department at Sears. Edward had many interests including creating stained glass lamps and sun-catchers and gardening. He was a huge University of Michigan Football fan, maintaining season tickets for many years. His biggest love in life was his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife Lois. He was proud of his son Dennis (Ann), and daughters Joan (Gary) Wancour and Donna (Michael) Thompson. He adored his grandchildren Gregory (Chris), Alan (Alena), and Jeffrey LaTour; Jonathan (Sarah), Bradley (Heather Feenaughty), and Pierce Wancour; Benjamin, Aubrey and the late Jack & Samuel Thompson. He is survived by his great grandchildren Calvin and Vanessa Wancour.
